Privacy Policy

Information we collect

None. oPDF does not collect, store, transmit or sell personal information. There is no sign-up, no login, and nothing in the app that tracks how you use it.

Your documents

PDFs you open are read straight from your own storage and displayed on your Mac. Their contents are never uploaded, and neither the developer nor any third party can see them.

Annotations, signatures and form entries you make are written back into your own file, in the place you choose to save it.

Data stored on your device

To make the app usable, oPDF keeps a small amount of data in its own folder on your Mac: a list of recently opened documents (file name, location, page count and last read position), the macOS permissions that let it reopen those files without asking you again, and your preferences such as language, theme and sidebar state.

This data stays on your device. You can clear the reading history from inside the app at any time, and removing the app removes it entirely.

Network access

oPDF displays PDFs entirely offline. Everything it needs is built into the app, so it downloads nothing while you read.

If a future version adds an optional feature that needs the network, it will be off until you turn it on, and this policy will be updated before that feature ships.

Third parties

oPDF carries no advertising, no ad attribution and no analytics of any kind, and shares no data with third parties. Apple may collect its own download and crash statistics through the App Store, subject to Apple's privacy policy rather than this one.

Children

oPDF is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date above, and the change will ship alongside the app release it applies to.
